Are you surprised about my opening moves ?
They were caused by my undecidedness about which yagura variation I would choose: Yonenaga style fast attack or central rook.
However, when the formation was built, it turned out to be a Morishita System variation.
We followed the joseki until G-5f, the 21st move.
The next move, S-5d, is my own idea and for a long time I have been waiting for an opportunity to try it.
I thought it may not be a good move, but I dared to try it, because I didn't know how to refute it.
The situation had been unclear, but after my 28th move G*7e I felt at ease a little, because it was difficult for Black to prevent my next attack P*7f.
I evaluated that my position was better than before, because I controlled the front area of the black king.
However, this confidence had a bad influence on me.
The move Nx3c was the losing move.
I should have played G4b, the move I originally intended to play. This aims at capturing the knight and also developping the frontal area of my king.
My mistake was to think that black had no good moves for a knight.
At the 44th move, P*8e, I missed my last opportunity to make a fight of it. Better would have been Gx8f; Bx8f, P*8e, even though I think it will not turn the tables.
After I missed that move, Mr. Ito finished the game excellently.
The Ricoh Team lost the championship by a 2-3 score and I am to blame for it. Also, I am not satisfied by my own 3-2 result at this tournament.
I will do my best to win the championship next time.
